There are so many questions about Kobe Beef. “Where can I eat Kobe Beef?” or “Where can I buy Kobe Beef.” In 2007, Kobe Beef was registered as a Regional Corrective Trademark by Kobe Beef Marketing and Distribution Promotion Association. In this Association, all breeding farms, fatting farms and traders of Kobe Beef are to be designated and registered. Furthermore all wholesale stores, retail stores and restaurants of the Association are to display their designated registration certificate and bronze statue as the member’s proof at their shop front.

The chrysanthemum logo is only stamped on meat that meets the quality standards of Kobe beef. Meat that does not have this logo is not recognized as genuine Kobe beef, and it is an important mark that indicates that it is genuine Kobe beef. Kobe beef certification has very strict standards, including bloodline, fattening period, meat quality, and carcass evaluation, and the chrysanthemum logo indicates that the cow has met all of them.↓
Every time Kobe beef arrives at a restaurant, a certificate of authenticity must be displayed in the storefront (which means the certificate date must be updated every few months).
The reason why the certificate is required is that there are restaurants that sell beef that is not Kobe beef as Kobe beef, and the falsification of origin is becoming a serious problem.
