Difference between “Japanese beef” and “Wagyu”

“Japanese beef” is beef that is imported from foreign countries and raised in Japan. “Wagyu” is an ancient Japanese cow that was born and raised in Japan. We use “Wagyu” at our restaurant. We work closely with a Wagyu wholesale butcher shop run by a relative of the founder of steakhouse 473. The parent of the world-famous Kobe beef lives on Ishigaki Island in Okinawa. This is the secret behind our delicious steak.
