OKINAWA ORIGINAL STEAK HOUSE 473
A5 wagyu
Did you know that there are as many as 400 brands of Wagyu in Japan? Do you know where most of them take their first breath?
The answer lies here in tropical Okinawa, on remote islands deep within the region.
Wagyu farmers across Japan purchase elite calves born on these remote islands deep in tropical Okinawa, bring them back to their respective prefectures, and raise them with deep affection. This is how world-renowned brands like Matsusaka, Omi, Yonezawa, and Ishigaki beef are perfected.
The “Legendary Black Wagyu,” which serves as the roots (source) of these world-class brands, is exactly what we serve as our steak. With only six heads shipped per month, its rarity is overwhelming.
As you walk through the streets of Japan, you encounter “Wagyu” signs everywhere, but very few people ever reach the true roots (source).
Among the countless Wagyu restaurants as numerous as the stars, how many can truly tell the “Story of Life”?
While many people head for the neon lights of Tokyo or Osaka in search of the finest Wagyu, true connoisseurs head to the Wagyu sanctuary, 473.
We provide “THE ROOTS OF WAGYU,” limited to only six heads per month. Even here in Okinawa, we are the only establishment permitted to offer it.
Please experience the story of this profound lineage, nurtured by mineral-rich grass blown by tropical sea breezes and the warmth of the subtropical sun.
I am certain you will find yourself deeply agreeing with why we are called a cultural travel destination.

Culinary Artistry by our Steak Master

Point01
THE AUTHENTIC CLASSIC STEAKHOUSE
~ Best A5 wagyu steak in okinawa ~
Okinawa possesses a unique history where an authentic steak culture took root during the post-war U.S. administration, and 473 is its true legitimate successor. We are a rare find in Okinawa—a high-end, locally-owned steakhouse. While people often compare us to the American luxury steakhouse chains found in Tokyo, we are fundamentally different. Their core is U.S. beef and foreign capital; 473 is built on “ROOTS OF WAGYU “—the treasure of our islands—and remains a proudly independent, local establishment. By applying classic American cooking methods, inherited from the island’s past, to the highest pinnacle of island Wagyu, we have achieved a “deep synthesis of American and Okinawan cultures.” This is what we call the ultimate evolution of the Okinawan steak. We offer the primal satisfaction of a thick-cut steak—something thin-sliced Yakiniku or Teppanyaki cannot provide—combined with the profound, fragrant umami of Okinawan Legendary Black Wagyu that U.S. beef simply cannot match. 473 is a singular steak experience that embodies the best of both worlds.
Point02
THE SUMMIT of WAGYU ~ A miraculous gathering ~
A miraculous gathering that rarely, if ever, occurs: LEGENDARY BLACK WAGYU from Okinawa, KOBE BEEF from Hyogo, and MATSUSAKA BEEF from Mie. The “The summit of wagyu,” where they unite under one roof, is a miracle orchestrated by 473. How was this realized? It is the fruit of “TRUST” built over many years. Responding to the producers’ belief that “We can entrust our masterpieces to 473,” only the rare pinnacle of the A5 rank gathers at this table. This is not merely a meal. Be a witness to this historic “convergence.”

Point03
Unique searing technique
~ A Symphony of Aged Ryukyu Awamori and Wagyu ~
Our original searing technique, TOKIMU-YAKI, is what breathes life into the mystical ingredients of Okinawa. By painstakingly permeating every fiber of the meat with drops of AGED RYUKYU AWAMORI (Okinawan sake), we imbue the steak with the very history of Okinawa. This process releases a veil of profound fragrance and elevates the steak’s potential to an unexplored summit, sealing in the umami at its absolute peak. The masterpiece is perfected the very moment it arrives at your table. We invite you to experience our philosophy of the flame.

GUEST INFORMATION
- Do you welcome solo diners or families with children??
-
Yes, absolutely. The Sanctuary is open to all who appreciate true quality. Whether you are a solo diner seeking the “ultimate luxury” of facing the world’s best steak in silence, or a family wishing to share an unforgettable memory with the “next generation of gourmets.” We welcome guests of all ages and styles. Please feel free to enjoy the Sanctuary in your own perfect way.
- Is this a Yakiniku or Teppanyaki style restaurant??
-
No. We are an “Authentic Classic Steakhouse” inheriting post-war American culture.
Okinawa has a deep history where authentic steak culture took root under U.S. administration. We are the legitimate successors of that tradition. We are also distinctly different from the U.S.-based luxury steakhouses found in Tokyo. While they are foreign-owned chains serving mainly “US Beef,” 473 serves Japan’s treasures: “Okinawa Wagyu, Kobe Beef, and Matsusaka Beef,” and we are proud to be a locally owned family business. We grill the world’s finest “Wagyu” using the American “Thick Cut” technique. This fusion of “American Culture” and “Japanese Ingredients” is the final evolution of steak. The substantial texture of a thick cut (which Teppanyaki lacks) combined with the rich umami of Wagyu (which US beef lacks). We promise you the “No.1 Steak Experience in Japan” that possesses the best of both worlds.
