President’s Message

Greetings from the president
Thank you very much for your continued patronage of OKINAWA ORIGINAL STEAK HOUSE 473.
Eighty years ago, Okinawa Prefecture was devastated by World War II, and has continued to grow, accepting each era with the hope of peace, through the Ryukyu Kingdom era, the period under US military rule, and the era of Japan.
What supported this was our pride as Okinawans.
Nowadays, many people from both Japan and abroad visit Okinawa, and Kokusai Street has come to be called the Miracle Mile.
I grew up in US military housing built after World War II. I am an Okinawan born and raised in Okinawa. My ancestors were teachers of Okinawan karate and abacus.
With the samurai spirit I inherited in my heart, I learned Korean Army-style Okinawan Karate (Taekwondo) and won the Japan tournament as a representative of Okinawa Prefecture. Now I am spreading Okinawa’s steak culture and awamori culture to people all over the world.
In the center of Naha, many restaurants are run by foreign or out-of-prefecture companies. However, Steakhouse 473 is a locally owned restaurant. Though it is small, it has grown into Okinawa’s only premium Wagyu steakhouse, supported by U.S. military personnel and local fans.
We sincerely look forward to your visit.
